Kapil Sibal a prominent lawyer most of the time we have seen him handle crucial cases in High Court and Supreme Court as well. Now he was presenting Sunni Waqf Board in the Supreme Court in the matter of Ayodhya case.
He submitted a plea to defer the hearing of Ayodha case up to 2019 Lok-Sabha election as the atmosphere was not pertinent. Followed this plea on Tuesday Supreme dismissed his submission as he wanted the hearing in Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute is put off until the next general election.
President of BJP Amit Shah asked the Congress for clarification the stand on its leader Kapil Sibal’s submission in the Apex Court to defer the hearing on Ayodhya case up to next general election.
“Today a surprising stand was taken in Supreme Court by Congress leader and Sunni Waqf Board lawyer Kapil Sibal ji, he said hearing should be deferred till after 2019 LS polls. Congress should clear its stand on this,” ANI quoted Shah as saying.
Earlier in a day, SC decided to hear the civil appeals filed by a myriad number of parties challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute on February 8 next year.
BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao takes the dig on Rahul Gandhi as well Kapil Sibal and he questioned in sarcastic tone on his official twitter handle “Is Kapil Sibal Congress party’s counsel or Sunni Waqf Board Counsel in Ayodhya dispute for seeking postponement of the court hearing until after 2019 polls? Why has the self-deluded Shiv Bhakt turned against Lord Ram? The congress is guilty of politicizing the Ayodhya court case.”
“Rather than seeking an early resolution to this vexed legal issue, why is the Congress party trying to perpetuate uncertainty,” PTI quoted Rao as saying.
